Getting a chance to move into the big budget superhero world of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN was a thrill for actress Emma Stone who tackles the iconic Gwen Stacy in the film reboot of the classic character. “You realize there is so much material when it comes to Spider-Man,” admits Stone, who had just came off THE HELP, which was also based on a book. “THE HELP was one big book, but this was 50 years of comic book material. You can’t please everybody. You just have to bring the character to life in the best way you know how and […]Read On »

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN teaser poster | ©2012 Sony Pictures/Marvel Studios

While speaking to the press shortly before THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN panel at Wondercon 2012, director Marc Webb spoke about how different the new Spider-Man saga will be from the Sam Raimi trilogy that came before it. “There are elements of Spider-Man that’s universal,” says Webb. “He shoots his web and soars through the sky. He’s also a little guy who beats up guys bigger than him. I have to admit, my interest in the new THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN movie hasn’t been as rabid as my interest in the other superhero movies this summer (and you know who you are). Maybe it had to do with loving the Sam Raimi incarnation, or maybe it just felt that the Spider-Man world had been exhausted in the film world. Yet, today, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios offered up a special global sneak preview of the new film (opening July 3) with the filmmakers and actors in attendance in one of the many select cities across the globe so fans […]Read On »

An argument is made in the film ANONYMOUS that Shakespeare’s father was illiterate, but it seems logical that the mind capable of writing Shakespeare’s plays and poems was capable of learning to read in the first place. In any event, most […]Read On »

Breaking News (and a new Spidey Photo): And the new title of the SPIDER-MAN reboot is … THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

Andrew Garfield is Spider-Man in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN | ©2011 Sony Pictures/Marvel

It’s taken some time, but the title of SPIDER-MAN 4 aka the SPIDER-MAN reboot movie is finally here and it is … THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. That’s not surprising, considering the title is also shared with one of the longest running SPIDER-MAN comic book series. Also released is a photo of Garfield in full costume  – hopefully to quell fears that the behind-the-scenes footage of the Spidey-costume will look better when properly lit (it does). THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN opens July 3, 2012 and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. […]Read On »
