New Line Cinema, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures presented the Los Angeles Premiere of THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG recently at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Fans lines the street and up the center of the Hollywood/Highland Complex where the black carpet ran right up to the stairs leading to the doors of the Dolby Theatre. The fans were more then happy to be able to get up close to get pictures and autographs of the stars. Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures held the World Premiere of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER at the El Capitan Theater on July 19th. The carpet was red and white, and at the end of the carpet before the stars of the film and guests walked into the theater was the CAPTAIN AMERICA shield. The premiere was sponsored by Harley-Davidson, and where I was they had a white Harley that the stars autographed when they walked on the carpet.  In the film, CAPTAIN AMERICA rides a Harley-Davidson WLA motorcycle.  Also sponsoring was Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin’ Donuts. Director Peter Jackson has earned enough good will in his impressive career, that he’s afforded a misstep or two every now and again. However, with the full titles for his new THE HOBBIT prequels to his LORD OF THE RINGS now officially announced, this may be one misstep that is going to haunt him for some time. The first film will be called THE HOBBIT: AN EXPECTED JOURNEY and hits theaters December 14, 2012, while the second, dubbed THE HOBBIT: THERE AND BACK AGAIN, arrives a year later on December 13, 2013.
