As overly critical as I can be over the show and its occasional lack of focus and a good portion of the new cast still not ready for primetime and far from being ready for late night I still have faith. It’s […]Read On »

Sarah Michelle Gellar in THE CRAZY ONES - Season 1 | ©2013 CBS/Monty Brinton

In THE CRAZY ONES, premiering on CBS Thursday, September 26 at 9 PM, Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar play father/daughter owners of a major advertising agency. Simon Roberts (Williams) comes up with off-the-wall last-minute ideas, such as in the pilot, when he decides that Kelly Clarkson will make a great singing pitch-woman for McDonald’s, even when Clarkson (playing herself) insists on making the song considerably more sultry than necessary to sell Big Macs. It falls to Sydney Roberts (Gellar) to implement Simon’s schemes, whether she thinks there’s genius in her father’s madness, or just more craziness. Gellar probably needs […]Read On »

TV Review: SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE – Season 38 – Host Martin Short

Martin Short and Paul McCartney in SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE - Season 38 | ©2012 NBC/Dana Edelson

After a very rough patch of episodes, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE pulled out all the stops for its Christmas episode hosted by Martin Short with musical guest Paul McCartney. Following on the heels of the tragedy in the Sandy Hook elementary shooting, SNL made the cold opening a very classy and understated moment – they had the New York Children’s Choir sing “Silent Night”. No mention was made of the tragedy, but it was clear what this moment stood for. Very memorable. The rest of the episode was filled with an endless parade of big name cameos (Samuel L. Jackson, Alec […]Read On »

Season 38 has turned into one of the worst seasons in some time and I still haven’t figured out why. Kristen Wiig and Andy Samburg leaving should not have killed the show’s momentum. They were good, but they weren’t […]Read On »

While Renner is an amazing dramatic actor, doing live TV is not necessarily his strong suit, although when his piano failed to play during his monologue, he handled himself quite well until the problem was fixed. That said, most of the sketches were terrible this […]Read On »

Like her previous two stints, Hathaway is fantastic and very funny. In many ways she’s a stronger performer than the material she’s given and her ability to put herself out there and look ridiculous is part […]Read On »
