In Amazon’s series SNEAKY PETE, now streaming its first season and picked up for a second, Margo Martindale plays bail bonds company proprietor and family matriarch Audrey. Audrey’s problems include a husband (Pete Gerety) with serious health issues, a single-mother granddaughter (Marin Ireland) who’s not very good at the family business and grandson Pete (Giovanni Ribisi) who has returned home after a twenty-year absence. Margo Martindale very rightly won a Supporting Actress Emmy for her indelible portrayal of backwoods crime queen Mags Bennett on JUSTIFIED in that series’ second season. Since then, the prolific Texas-born actress appeared on two short-lived TV shows, CHAOS and A GIFTED MAN, before playing opposite Meryl Streep and Chris Cooper in the feature film AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY. In 2013, Martindale took on two television roles that are still ongoing. One is KGB spymaster Claudia, aka Granny, on FX’s THE AMERICANS, which begins its second season Feb. 26. On July 29th a big party was held by CBS/The CW/Showtime for the Television Critics Annual Summer Press Tour at The Event, which is actually the upper parking lot where the department store Robinson’s/May in Beverly Hills used to be.
