Breaking News: Syfy officially announces SHARKNADO 2 and it bites the Big Apple

Yes, it’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s SHARKNADO 2 and it’s coming to New York to take a bite out of the Big Apple. Last night, Syfy announced via LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON  that a sequel has been greenlit and it will take place in New York this time. The Asylum will be producing the film again and it’s set to air in 2014. Syfy also announced that it is asking the fans to come up with the sequel subtitle via Twitter. Fresh Clip: The full-length almost Red Band SHARKNADO trailer has arrived

We’ve had the Syfy trailer, and now we get the full length, almost Red Band SHARKNADO trailer (courtesy of Machinima who got the exclusive) which makes its debut on the Syfy Channel this Thursday (tomorrow). Check your local listings for times. Sharks rain down from the sky in an orgy of carnage, destruction and some crazy chainsaw action to boot. No one is safe, not even the sharks. As SHARKNADO continues it forthcoming assault to the small screen courtesy of Syfy making its debut July 11 (check local listings), the interest, for better or worse, continues to expand towards pop culture world domination. The latest tease comes from Hulu which just unleashed a sequence from the film of the Santa Monica Pier being destroyed by the oncoming Sharknado. The film stars Ian Ziering of 90210 fame as he tries to save his family from a tornado of sharks destroying Los Angeles. Tara Reid is his ex-wife, Aubrey Peeples his daughter. Finally, after a very long wait, a super short SHARKNADO trailer has finally made its debut. Syfy has released their officially commercial spot for the trailer for the epic new disaster/shark film (check it out below) starring Tara Reid, Ian Ziering, John Heard and Cassie Scerbo which will make its debut on the network on Thursday, July 11 (check local listings for times). The story follows a ragtag group of people banding together to save themselves (and Los Angeles) from an impending tornado full of sharks.
