Vin Diesel received the 2,504th Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Category of Motion Pictures on August 26th. The star is located in front of the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard. It was a very hot day and unfortunately I landed up sitting in the sun and thought I was going to melt. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) held their annual Installation Luncheon on August 13th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. This luncheon is to introduce the new officers and directors and the HFPA presented $1.6 million dollars in financial grants to film schools and non-profits and scholarship programs due to the success of the Golden Globes in January of this year. Theo Kingma, the new President of the HFPA welcomed the guests and announced the 2013 grant recipients. Eva Longoria was the emcee for this year’s luncheon. Universal Pictures presented the American Premiere of FAST & FURIOUS 6 at the Universal CityWalk and Gibson Amphitheatre, Universal City Hollywood on May 21st. Fans got there before nine in the morning to get bracelets to be in the area by the CityWalk’s “5 Towers” Outdoor Concert Venue so they could watch the performances by Ludacis, Wiz Khalifa and 2 Chainz.
