Can you believe it’s been twenty years since Walt Disney Pictures released the live action movie THE ROCKETEER, based on the comic books by Dave Stevens? Well, now D23 (the only official fan club for Disney) and Creature Features are presenting a very special event at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on June 21st. A NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, TANGLED and TRON: LEGACY will arrive in the 3D Blu-ray format

As HD-3D television sets are looking to become the new “it” thing when it comes to home entertainment, Walt Disney Studios announced today that it’s getting an edge on its competitors with the announcement for their Blu-ray 3D titles for 2011. Fifteen films will be released in the new year with this new format including the animated classics THE LION KING and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST as well as this winter’s big hits TRON: LEGACY and TANGLED. With Mandy Moore making vocal and musical waves on the big screen playing Rapunzel in Disney’s forthcoming animated feature TANGLED (their 50th, which opens Wednesday) the singer/actress spoke with ASSIGNMENT X recently about the status of her new album. “Hopefully it will out next year some time,” says Moore. “I’m still writing at this point and want to be done writing by the end of the year and start recording next year. It hasn’t necessarily taken too much shape yet.”
