The CW’s Archie-Comics-derived, RIVERDALE spinoff KATY KEENE is now in its first season on Thursday nights. The title heroine (Lucy Hale), an aspiring designer, lives with three roommates: aspiring singer Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), aspiring promoter Pepper Smith (Julia Chan), and aspiring Broadway performer Jorge Lopez, played by Jonny Beauchamp. Jorge has a cabaret gig as his female alter ego, Ginger. Beauchamp, originally from Puerto Rico, has played transgender and cross-dressing characters before, as Angelique in Showtime’s PENNY DREADFUL and as Ray/Ramona in the film STONEWALL. KATY KEENE, spun off from RIVERDALE (both of which are adapted from the Archie Comics series), is in its first season on Thursdays on The CW. Katy (Lucy Hale) is a young aspiring fashion designer in New York who works at the upscale Lacy’s department store. One of Katy’s bosses there is the imperious and demanding Gloria Grandbilt, played by Katherine LaNasa.
